We would love to grow our business and be open more days. To do that would require us to demolish or add on to the attached house in front that we own. This would be a large investment either way and with both of us over 60 it is a bit more than we are able to tackle. We feel an expanded display and menu along with seating will encourage locals and those driving though to stop for breakfast and we may offer lunch with an expanded business. A few ideas are a country store and weekend breakfast buffet.. All of this is possible, but we need an investor or someone to buy us out.
Some would ask why we are not using the NY Forward Program that the village was awarded. We had planned to however there are 2 major drawbacks. One you must finance your project 100% to get a 40% reimbursement, and second the real deal breaker is the , "Claw Back Clause". We could not sell our business within 5 years or we would have to pay back the 40%. We do not like these terms as it does not help new business grow.
Where are we at now? Well we may try to raise the funds with a go fund me page, however it would be best for a younger person to take this over. There is great potential, and we have just started. A younger owner is needed as the expanded business would be opened 6-7days,.
